2) These terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to all orders placed through our website. By using our site and placing an order, you agree to be bound by them.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains valid.

3) Products and information

We sell products including (but not limited to):

  • Live black soldier fly larvae (“Calci Worms”)

  • Dried larvae

  • Insect frass fertiliser

  • Insect meal and related insect-based products

Product images are for illustration only. As natural products, colour, size, and appearance may vary. Product descriptions and care/use instructions form part of the product information you should read before purchase.

Not for human consumption: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, our products are not intended for human consumption.

4) Eligibility and business customers

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.

If you purchase as a business, some consumer rights (such as certain cancellation rights) do not apply. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights where applicable.

5) Placing an order and contract formation

  1. You place an order on our website and pay at checkout.

  2. You will receive an order confirmation email acknowledging receipt.

  3. A binding contract is formed when we dispatch your order (or otherwise confirm acceptance).

We may refuse or cancel an order if:

  • The item is out of stock

  • There is an obvious pricing or listing error

  • Delivery is not possible to the address provided

  • Fraud or unauthorised activity is suspected

If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund you.

6) Prices, VAT, and payment

All prices are shown in GBP (£) and are inclusive or exclusive of VAT as clearly indicated at checkout.

Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you place your order.

We accept the payment methods shown on the checkout page. Payment must be received in full before dispatch.

7) Delivery

Delivery options and estimated delivery times are shown at checkout and described in our Shipping Policy.

Estimated delivery times are not guaranteed. Delays can happen due to courier issues, weather, or other events outside our control.

Ownership of goods passes to you once we have received full payment. Risk passes to you on delivery to the address you provide (or when delivered to a safe place you have authorised).

8) Live products (important)

Live Calci Worms are time-sensitive and can be affected by transit conditions and temperature. While we package live orders carefully, some losses in transit can occur.

By ordering live goods, you agree that:

  • You will bring the parcel inside promptly on arrival

  • You will open and check the contents promptly

  • You will follow any storage/handling guidance provided

Claims relating to live arrivals are handled under our Shipping Policy (including the timeframe to notify us).

9) Subscriptions (if you purchase a subscription)

If you purchase a subscription product:

  • Your subscription renews automatically at the frequency shown at checkout until cancelled.

  • You can manage or cancel via your account (where enabled) or by contacting us at hello@syntects.co.uk.

  • If payment fails, we may retry payment and/or pause the subscription until payment is successful.

  • If we change subscription pricing, we will provide notice and the change will apply from the next renewal after the notice period.

10) Your right to cancel (cooling-off period) — consumers

If you are a UK consumer buying online, you typically have a legal right to cancel eligible goods within 14 days of receiving them.

Important exceptions: The right to cancel does not apply to certain goods, including items that deteriorate or expire rapidly (this commonly includes live/perishable goods).

Where cancellation rights apply, you must clearly notify us (for example by email) within the cancellation period.

11) Returns and refunds (where applicable)

Change-of-mind returns (non-live, non-perishable items only)

Where eligible, you may return items within 14 days of notifying us of cancellation, provided:

  • They are unused, unopened where relevant, and in resalable condition

  • They are returned with original packaging where possible

Unless the item is faulty/incorrect, return postage is your responsibility.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we receive the returned goods (or acceptable evidence of return).

Live goods

We do not accept “change of mind” returns for live goods. Live-arrival issues are handled under our Shipping Policy.

12) Faulty, damaged, or incorrect items

If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, contact hello@syntects.co.uk with:

  • Your order number

  • A clear description of the issue

  • Photos (and video if helpful)

We will offer an appropriate remedy (replacement, refund, or partial refund) depending on the circumstances.

13) Our liability

We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for losses not caused by us.

  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

  • If you buy as a business, we are not liable for business losses (lost profit, revenue, contracts, goodwill, etc.).

14) Events outside our control

We are not liable for delays or failure to perform due to events outside our reasonable control (including courier disruption, severe weather, power outages, or industrial action).

All content on this website (including text, images, branding, and logos) is owned by or licensed to Syntects Ltd and must not be used without permission.

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (available on our website).

17) Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales (unless mandatory consumer protections apply elsewhere).
