Flytiliser — British Insect Frass Fertiliser, 500g

Made on our own black soldier fly farm in Yoxall, Staffordshire. No imports, no middlemen — farm direct.

Flytiliser is insect frass fertiliser: the natural by-product of raising black soldier fly larvae. It’s one of the most nutrient-dense organic soil amendments available in the UK, and every bag is produced right here on our farm.

NPK & NUTRIENTS

NPK 3-1-3 — nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in a slow-release form that feeds your soil consistently over weeks, not just days after application.

Unlike synthetic fertilisers that spike and fade, Flytiliser releases nutrients gradually as soil microbes break it down — meaning steadier growth, less waste, and no risk of nutrient burn.

WHAT MAKES FLYTILISER DIFFERENT

The key is chitin — a natural biopolymer found in insect exoskeletons that remains present in the frass. When applied to soil, chitin:

– Stimulates beneficial soil bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi
– Triggers plants’ natural immune and growth responses
– Improves soil structure and water retention over time
– Helps build disease resistance from the ground up

Flytiliser is also microbially alive — it contains the beneficial bacteria naturally present in our grow rooms, which colonise your soil and improve long-term fertility. You cannot get this from a bag of synthetic NPK.

WHAT CAN I USE FLYTILISER ON?

Flytiliser works on virtually any growing situation:

Vegetable gardens & allotments — mix into beds before planting or use as a mid-season top dressing. Particularly effective on brassicas, tomatoes, courgettes and root vegetables.

Raised beds — apply at the start of the season and again mid-season. Works alongside compost or as a standalone feed.

Lawns — top dress in spring and autumn for deeper root development and improved colour without the synthetic flush.

Houseplants & containers — mix a small amount into potting compost or apply as a surface dressing and water in. Works on indoor and outdoor container plants.

Established trees & shrubs — scatter around the drip line and water in. Particularly good for fruit trees.

HOW TO APPLY

Base dressing (new beds / start of season):
Apply at 200–300g per m², mix into the top 5–10cm of soil, water in well.

Top dressing (established plants / mid-season):
Apply at 100–150g per m², scatter around the base of plants, water in.

Houseplants:
Mix 1 teaspoon per litre of potting compost, or apply a light surface dressing monthly.

One 500g bag treats approximately:
– 4–5m² as a base dressing
– Up to 10m² as a top dressing

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY?

For best results, apply at the start of the growing season and again mid-season. For lawns, spring and autumn applications work well. For houseplants, a light monthly dressing keeps nutrients topped up without overdoing it.

STORAGE

Keep in a cool, dry place. Reseal the bag after use. Shelf life is 12+ months when stored correctly.

ABOUT SYNTECTS

We’re a British black soldier fly farm based in Yoxall, Staffordshire, established in 2022. Flytiliser is made as a natural by-product of our live larvae production — the same farm that supplies Live Calci Worms to chicken keepers across the UK.

Everything is produced in our own grow rooms. No imports, no outsourcing, no greenwashing — just a small British farm doing things properly.
