This Subscription Policy explains how subscriptions work on the Syntects website. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions, Shipping Policy, and Returns & Refunds Policy.

1) What a subscription is

When you buy a subscription from Syntects, you agree to receive products on a repeating schedule (for example weekly or monthly) and to pay the subscription price each time it renews, unless you cancel.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.


2) Subscription products

Subscription items will be clearly marked on the product page and at checkout.

Some subscriptions may be for:

  • Live products (e.g., live Calci Worms)

  • Non-live products (e.g., dried larvae, frass, insect meal)


3) Billing and renewals

  • Your payment method is charged automatically on each renewal date.

  • Renewal frequency (e.g., weekly/monthly) and the price are shown at checkout and/or in your account.

  • If you start a subscription with a discounted period or offer, the renewal price after the offer ends will be shown at checkout.

We may send you emails confirming:

  • Subscription sign-up

  • Each renewal payment

  • Changes to your subscription (e.g., price changes, payment issues)


4) Managing your subscription

You can manage your subscription in either of these ways:

  1. Via your online account (if your checkout system supports subscription management), or

  2. By emailing hello@syntects.co.uk with your:

    • Full name

    • Order number (or subscription order number)

    • Delivery postcode

    • What you want to change (cancel / pause / change address / change frequency)


5) Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel your subscription at any time.

When cancellation takes effect

  • If you cancel before your next renewal payment is taken, you won’t be charged again and no further orders will be created.

  • If you cancel after a renewal payment has been taken, the cancellation will normally take effect from the next renewal (future charges stop), and the current cycle remains active.

If you want to stop an order that’s already been paid

If a renewal has been charged and you want to stop the upcoming shipment, email hello@syntects.co.uk as soon as possible.
If the order has not been processed or dispatched yet, we may be able to cancel and refund it. If it has already been dispatched, it will be handled under our Returns & Refunds Policy.


6) Pausing, skipping, or changing frequency (if available)

If your subscription setup supports it, you may be able to:

  • Pause for a period

  • Skip the next delivery

  • Change delivery frequency

If you can’t see these options in your account, email hello@syntects.co.uk and we’ll help where possible.


7) Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails:

  • We may retry the payment automatically.

  • Your subscription may be paused until payment succeeds.

  • If payment continues to fail, the subscription may be cancelled.

You can update your payment method via your account (if available) or by following the link in your payment email notifications.


8) Address changes

You are responsible for keeping your delivery address up to date.

If you need to change your address, update it in your account (if available) or email hello@syntects.co.uk as early as possible.
If an order has already been processed or dispatched, we may not be able to change the address in time.


9) Shipping for subscription orders

Shipping methods for subscription orders follow our Shipping Policy:

  • All live subscription products: 24hr tracked

  • All other subscription products: 48hr tracked

Live orders may be timed to reduce the risk of weekend delays, and we may delay dispatch in extreme temperatures for animal welfare.


10) Returns and refunds for subscription orders

Each subscription shipment is treated like an order for returns/refunds purposes.

  • Live products: Not eligible for change-of-mind returns due to their perishable/time-sensitive nature. Live arrival issues must be reported within the timeframe in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

  • Non-live products: Eligible change-of-mind returns may be accepted in line with our Returns & Refunds Policy (condition/time limits apply).

Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals. It does not automatically refund orders that have already been processed or delivered unless the return/refund conditions are met.


11) Price changes

If we change subscription pricing, we will provide notice (typically by email). The updated price will apply from the next renewal after the notice period, unless you cancel before then.


12) Stock issues and substitutions

We aim to fulfil all subscription orders as planned. If we cannot supply an item due to stock or operational issues, we may:

  • Delay dispatch, or

  • Cancel that cycle and refund the affected item(s), or

  • Contact you with options

We do not substitute products unless we clearly tell you and you agree (unless the substitution is explicitly described on the product page).

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this Subscription Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website with the “Last updated” date shown at the top.
